Fashion’s mad scientist Hussein Chalayan said in 2007 that we live in increasingly boring times where clothing companies are afraid to take risks. Chalayan is afraid of no such thing. For his Fall 2013 ready-to-wear show, Chalayan debuted quick-change dresses that look like a CGI effect. These aren’t clunky Transformers mutations but elegant blooms. Unlike other established designers (cough, Karl Lagerfeld, cough), Chalayan isn’t creating these frocks for the priveleged but instead wants this technology applied to how all people dress. It’s reminiscent of his incredible spring-summer 2007 show when the designer added his techno touch to show the evolution of fashion over the last century. See the full Fall 2013 show here.

Andrej Pejic is the cover star on Serbian Elle’s January 2013 cover. Andrej is also a man. The cover marks a first for the magazine. Previously, Elle featured trans model Lea T on its Brazilian cover. The same year, in 2011, Barnes and Noble censored a different magazine cover featuring a bare-chested Pejic.

This must be especially sweet for Andrej, though. The model fled Serbia in 1999 as a refugee to Australia. It was in Melbourne, while working at a McDonald’s at age 17, that he was discovered. Revenge is chic.

Spin Magazine released a comprehensive list of the 50 Biggest White Girl Rap Moments of All Time, including Uffie’s trendsetting “Pop the Glock” and Madonna’s “American Life” rap (“I do yoga and Pilates, and the room is full of hotties, so I’m checkin’ out the bodies and you know I’m satisfied.”) But they left off one piece of 2001 kitsch.

The highlight of “Ghost World,” a bomb of a movie following two outsider girls (including a not-yet sexy Scarlett Johansson) post-high school, is the graduation rap. You’re welcome.
